The Johnson County Museum is gearing up for its big move to the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center at 8788 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park. The official closing day of the museum (including KidScape) at 6305 Lackman Road in Shawnee is set for Saturday, Sept. 3. The museum will be open that last day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., so don’t miss your chance to visit one last time.
And with every move there is, of course, a moving sale! Items in the gift shop are discounted, so stop by and also pick up a gift and maybe some retro candy (members – don’t forget your ten percent discount).
In the meantime, members and the public can enjoy their favorite programs this fall at Mill Creek Activity Center, 6518 Vista Avenue in Shawnee.
The Johnson County Museum is planning its grand opening at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center in May 2017. Museum staff looks forward to moving into the new location and are excited to share with you a brand new signature exhibition, an expanded and updated KidScape and other great programs!
