The start of the New Year includes the arrival of the first issues of two popular Johnson County magazines.
The winter edition of JoCo Magazine has been mailed to all Johnson County households. The issue highlights the Veterans Treatment Court, which is marks its second year of operation, community events celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. and updates of major county projects, including new parks, courthouse and medical examiner's facility.
The January/February issue of The Best Times magazine was mailed on Friday, Jan. 5, to its 60-plus readership in Johnson County. The cover story showcases the county’s Emergency Communications Center and some of its 9-1-1 dispatchers who handle emergency calls that range from tragic to quirky. Other topics include advice on receiving tax filing assistance, avoiding tax scams, getting flu vaccinations and going green in 2018.
Both magazines are being posted online at jocogov.org (bottom right of home page) and are available at several county buildings, including the Administration Building, courthouse and branches of Johnson County Library.
