How long are positions posted?

Positions are posted for a minimum of one week (seven days). The specific close date for each job is included in the job posting details. 

How often is the job site updated with new positions?

The job site is updated as new positions become available.  

Can I set up email alerts for a Job Search?

Yes, if you are unable to find an opportunity that matches your current needs, you can set up an Email Alert which sends emails when positions are posted that meet your specified search criteria. Follow the instructions below to create an Email Alert.

  • Login to your iCIMS account and view the current Job Listings page.
  • In the Job Search Bar enter a keyword or words, and select any other details you'd like to search. Then click the Search button. 
  • The results of your search will be displayed, or if no current job posting matches your criteria, you'll receive a message that no results were found.
  • To save your job search, scroll to the bottom of the screen to view the Email Alert Options. Name your Email Alert and click Save.
  • The Email Alert will be active for six months from the date it is created. If you'd like to Renew or Delete an alert, view your Dashboard and click on Manage Job Alert Emails

Frequent Questions for Positions Open to Current County Employees

Where can I view jobs open to current county employees?

To view jobs that are open internally only, you must be a current Johnson County employee and have an assigned Johnson County email address. 

Visit the Employee Career Portal.

How can current county employees apply for jobs?

There are multiple ways of accessing the iCIMS employee application portal. If you are interested in applying for a job, it is strongly recommended that you first obtain the employee portal password. The reset password email is sent to your county email address, which can only be accessed via the county network, VPN or Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).

Once these steps are complete, you can use the user id and password from anywhere. If you have VPN access, you may still access the employee portal without obtaining your employee portal password.

Obtaining your employee portal password:

  1. With access to your county email, navigate the Employee Career Portal.
  2. Click on the Log back in! link.
  3. Enter your county email address and click the Continue button.
  4. Locate the password reset email in your county email inbox and click on the link.
  5. Create your new password.
  6. Return to the Employee Career Portal.
  7. Enter your county email address and click the Continue button.
  8. Enter the new password and click the Log In button.

From the county network:

  1. Navigate the Employee Career Portal.
  2. Click on the Log back in! link.
  3. Do not enter your email address.
  4. Instead, click on the button at the bottom of the page titled Continue with Johnson County Government with the small Johnson County Logo. 
  5. If asked, enter your county email in the next page and click Enter.

With VPN access:

  1. Connect to the VPN as normal.
  2. Navigate the Employee Career Portal.
  3. Click on the Log back in! link.
  4. Do not enter your email address.
  5. Instead, click on the button at the bottom of the page titled Continue with Johnson County Government with the small Johnson County Logo. 
  6. If asked, enter your county email in the next page and click Enter.
