This Earth Day, join Johnson County Department of Health and Environment and Downtown Overland Park merchants as we do our part to reduce the amount of textile waste in area landfills. Clothing and textile recyclables will be collected and redistributed to non-profits, shelters and other charitable organizations around Kansas City to provide new life and purpose to items that might otherwise end up in a landfill.
Bring your clothing and textile recyclables to the drop-off point behind the future home of the InterUrban ArtHouse (8010 Conser Street/behind the Post Office) between 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22. Volunteers will help you unload your recyclables and sort them to determine where they can be re-used or re-purposed.
This is part of a three-day Earth Day event in Downtown Overland Park aimed at reducing textile waste in area landfills. Learn more about the event, including a clothing/textile collection event on Saturday, 4/22, please visit http://downtownop.org/earth-day-2017/.
