MED-ACT provides continuing education for all Johnson County EMS providers that will satisfy the requirements set forth by the Kansas Board of EMS and the National Registry of EMT’s. A Physician lecture series is offered twice a year with Physicians from area institutions offering information in a variety of specialty areas related to EMS. Almost all continuing education hours are offered on duty in either a live or distributive format. Battalion Chiefs of Training will present ALS lectures over the course of the year to employees via a distributive format as well. MED-ACT also supports local hospitals with continuing education programs by providing EMS continuing education hours.
The Physician Lecture series events are open to anyone to attend. There is no cost for current Johnson County Providers. Those attending from outside the County are charged an administrative fee to process and maintain continuing education records.
Skills and Simulation sessions are held on duty and are hands on skills education sessions. These sessions are for Johnson County EMS providers only. These sessions routinely cover topics and skills associated with Johnson County EMS protocols.
If you have an interest in participating in the training or providing training to EMS providers, please send and email to Assistant Chief of Education Natalie Hartig at email@example.com.
