Governing Board

JCDS is guided by a seven-member governing board who are appointed by the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners. Board members are:

The Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) Governing Board is appointed by the Johnson County Board of Commissioners, pursuant to Section 19-4001, Kansas Statutes Annotated.

The JCDS Governing Board meets monthly, generally excluding July & December. Contact Shelly Toft, Senior Executive Assistant, at (913) 826-2641 or e-mail: Shelly Toft for specific dates, time, and locations, as these are subject to change.

Persons who may need assistance, the use of a sign language or oral interpreter, or who require special accommodations, should contact (913) 826-2641, at least two (2) weeks prior to the meeting.

NOTICE:

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Mark D. Elmore Center is closed to the public.  The JCDS Governing Board will be using Zoom, an online meeting tool, to conduct their meetings at this time.  We will be prudent with our business agenda, deferring action when feasible, and we will not be accepting Public Comments during the meeting. If you have information, comments, or questions related to any item on our agendas, we encourage you to submit that information in writing to [email protected].

To comply with K.A.R. 16-20-1 concerning open meetings during an emergency declaration, if you wish to attend a board meeting through the Zoom platform, please contact Shelly Toft via email above by noon on the day prior to the published meeting date.  You will receive a zoom link, including phone number options to call in, with a meeting ID and password to join the meeting electronically.  Your login will be held in an electronic meeting room until verification of your request and when the meeting begins, if your information is verified, you will be connected to the meeting.  You will be muted during the meeting.  The additional requirements for a password and email verification are necessary to comply with the data security requirements of Johnson County Government.

Please allow time to set up the application on your computer or phone if you have not previously used Zoom and have any ID, passwords, or phone numbers you intend to use at the ready.
