
The Commission on Aging (COA) is a voluntary group of individuals appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to provide information, guidance, advice and support to the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and to serve as a liaison to the BOCC concerning the needs of older county residents and services to meet those needs. The Johnson County Commission on Aging (COA) is seeking candidates for the annual Peg Deaton Leadership in Aging Award, which honors individuals, groups, or organizations making outstanding contributions to the quality of life for older adults and their families in Johnson County. Recommendations from 2019 Aging Forum
As a result of the 2019 Aging Forum held last October, the COA has compiled the following recommendations to be presented to the Board of County Commissioners. These recommendations are a result of more than 11 focus groups and over 100 forum participants providing input and feedback regarding a wide variety of aging issues.
Commission on Aging Meetings are open to the public and held at 9:00 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month (except June and December) in Olathe.
