Mid-America West Sports Complex

Mid America Sports Complex West

Mid-America West Sports Complex is the name the Johnson County Park & Recreation District established in mid-2004 for the complex previously known as the Johnson County Girls Athletic Complex. The name was changed to reflect that the facility provides recreational opportunities for girls, boys, adults and other groups and organizations. The name change was also to show the close relationship and close proximity to JCPRD's already established Mid-America Sports Complex.

Johnson County Park & Recreation District permanently acquired the facility in late 2003. JCPRD previously operated the facility under a lease/management agreement that began in March 2002 and involved the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Johnson County. The 12 outdoor youth softball fields with related amenities were built in 1989. It is also the host facility to many of the JCPRD youth softball leagues, tournaments and camps. For more information about Mid-America West Sports Complex programs or facilities, call 913-826-2900.

The Okun Fieldhouse, located within the Mid-America West Sports Complex, is a 56,500-square-foot indoor sports facility featuring four basketball courts, eight volleyball courts and concessions. The fieldhouse was constructed in 1999 and each year hosts a wide variety of adult and youth basketball and volleyball leagues, tournaments, camps and special events. Individual court or full facility rentals are available. For more information about JCPRD's Okun Fieldhouse programs or rental opportunities call 913-826-2900.
