Where can I get the COVID-19 vaccination?

COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed to people in phases. If you are a Johnson County resident/worker, download and review this document to determine your phase: Kansas Department of Health and Environment COVID-19 Vaccine Prioritization Plan.

Johnson County Department of Health & Environment

If you’re a Johnson County resident/worker eligible in Phase 2 and you haven’t taken JCDHE vaccine interest survey, fill out our interest form or call 913-715-2819 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Those eligible in Phase 2 will be contacted when appointments become available. We estimate it will take several weeks to vaccinate this large group of our population. We are starting with a subset of Phase 2 eligible people, those who are age 80+. Once this population is vaccinated, we will move to those 65-79.

We will share links to vaccination opportunities as we hear about them. However, please know that at this time doses are still very limited in our county. You may want to bookmark some of these links and check them frequently to see if appointments open up.

Health Care Systems

If you are eligible to register through a health care system, please do so and accept the first appointment you receive.

Health care workers

Health care workers eligible in Phase 1 who haven't gotten their vaccination yet, can make an appointment. If it says “there are no classes with open slots” when you click on the link, there are no appointments available yet. This list explains who is eligible in Phase 1 per the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

80+ population

People in this age group who have not yet received their first dose should complete the interest form. Those who have successfully completed the county’s interest form and have not been vaccinated will receive a follow-up email or phone call from the county on how to book an appointment. We are regularly monitoring our data to ensure that everyone who takes this survey is being contacted when they are eligible for an appointment.

K-12 Staff

K-12 staff should reach out to their administrators regarding vaccine opportunities through Children's Mercy.

Independent living residents

Independent living residents will be vaccinated through a new vaccine partnership with Hy-Vee and AuBurn Pharmacy.

Veterans can get vaccines through the Kansas City VA Medical Center. Call 816-861-4700 for more information.
