JCERT Programs at KUEC Boost Enrollment Growth for Consecutive Semester

Rising enrollment in JCERT-funded programs helped power significant growth in spring 2018 enrollment at the KU Edwards Campus (KUEC).

KUEC’s dozen JCERT degree and certificate programs accounted for nearly 28 percent of the student credit hours generated on campus for the new semester. The 3,322 JCERT credit hours mark a 26 percent jump from a year earlier – and represent 61 percent of the overall enrollment growth at KUEC.

Students working to attain a Master of Science in Applied Statistics and Analytics led the growth, with a 106 percent increase in credit hours. This program produces data analysts, scientists and statisticians ready to work in such industries as healthcare, transportation, insurance and manufacturing.

Other programs with significant growth included the Bachelor of Applied Science in Biotechnology, which saw enrollment hours nearly triple, as well as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Workplace Communication, which more than doubled year over year. The Master of Civil Engineering jumped more than 73 percent, and the Master of Accounting program experienced a 64 percent increase.

The Bachelor of Business Administration remained the biggest JCERT program at KUEC, with students taking 739 credit hours in spring 2018, up nearly 12 percent from a year earlier. The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology were the second- and third-largest programs.
