We asked Regina about her decision to pursue her master’s degree and what it has meant to her career.

What is your educational background?
I have an undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.

Why did you pursue the Professional Science Master in Applied Biosciences degree?
The program offered a wide range of classes I could tailor to my own interests. The online classes offered in the evenings allowed for flexibility while having a full-time job and family. The program offers a combination of professional-development courses as well as STEM classes to develop both hard and soft skills needed in a manufacturing career.

You’ve completed your degree. How has that contributed to your career advancement?
I was promoted twice while earning my degree and I’m now in a leadership role. This program helped develop my leadership and project-management skills and broadened my understanding of vaccine development. All these factors gave me more confidence in my knowledge and leadership abilities at work. I encourage anyone looking to advance in the scientific-manufacturing field to consider the applied biosciences program and K-State Olathe.
