Johnson County District Court

Johnson County District Court (10th Judicial Branch) is the last county in the state to move their court records to a statewide centralized case management system as part of a multi-year project by the State of Kansas.  Starting November 5th, 2024, online public court records will no longer be available on jococourts.org.  All historical court records along with new case filings can be located by searching the new public portal.  You may still access records in person at a terminal inside the Johnson County District Courthouse.

Within the Sheriff's Office Booking and Release ReportInmate Search, and Foreclosure Sales pages, you will see a case number displayed that will not match the case number formatting on the new public portal.  To maintain our internal programs, we must keep this number formatting in our Sheriff's Office programs.  The following are examples of the historical and new case number formatting you will find in the statewide public portal:

Johnson County Historical Cases:  YYCR12345 (2-digit year, case type, 5-digit case number - if the case # has zeros, you must include them)

New:  JO-YYYY-CR-123456 (County designation, 4-digit year, case type, 6-digit case number)

If you have issues locating a court record by case number, you can also perform a name search.
