Johnson County to accept partial payment for taxes due May 11

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic impacts on our community, Johnson County Government will begin accepting partial payments on second half real estate and personal property taxes due on or before Monday, May 11. There is no minimum payment, but any remaining balance will begin to accrue interest on May 12. Partial payments only apply to the second half of 2019 property taxes.

Partial payments may be made in one of two ways:

  1. By check or money order to the Johnson County Treasurer, PO BOX 2902, Shawnee Mission, KS 66201. Please write the Quick Ref ID on the check or money order. Please do not send cash in the mail.
  2. By credit card over the phone at the customer service line, 913-715-2600. A service fee of 2.4% will apply. Check payments cannot be accepted by phone.

Partial payments cannot be made in the following ways:

  1. Any payments made online at https://taxbill.jocogov.org will be required to pay the full remaining balance of your 2019 property taxes.
  2. Mortgage companies and escrow services that submit payment to our office will continue to pay the full remaining balance of your second half 2019 property taxes.
