As of May 23, the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners will use a new legislative information system for its meeting schedules, agendas, video streams and official documents. Johnson County has switched from the SIRE Technologies platform to OnBase by Hyland. Beginning May 23, all BOCC meeting information can be accessed at boccmeetings.jocogov.org.
The current SIRE system provides the official livestream of the BOCC meetings. As of May 23, OnBase will provide the official live broadcast along with archived videos, all including closed captioning.
“In addition to our official livestream, we have provided an alternate livestream on our website live.jocogov.org because the SIRE platform has limitations, such as not being mobile friendly nor being accessible any internet browser other than Internet Explorer,” said County Clerk John Bartolac. “OnBase has much more robust video capabilities, allowing for live and archived videos to be seen on mobile devices and multiple internet browsers.”
Due to that flexibility, BOCC meetings will no longer be broadcast live nor archived on live.jocogov.org. In addition to increased video capability, the OnBase system will be easier to navigate for the general public, and will create substantial cost savings in annual maintenance for the county.
