The public is invited to a free screening of “The S Word” — a 90-minute documentary that puts a human face on suicide, an often feared and misunderstood topic, delving into the hearts and minds of suicide attempt survivors, along with their families and loved ones.
The screening will include a panel discussion on suicide prevention. Panelists include Lisa Klein, director of “The S Word”; Deputy Chief Shawn Reynolds, Olathe Police Department; Rob MacDougall, director of emergency services, Johnson County Mental Health Center; Rennie Shuler-McKinney, director of clinical services, Shawnee Mission Medical Center. The screening is sponsored by the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition and hosted by Olathe Public Schools.
