Culinary Class for Older Adults

Stack of apple hand pies on a cutting board

Johnson County residents aged 60 and above are welcome to join Aging and Human Services on Wednesday, Oct. 16 for an in-person culinary class on homemade apple hand pies.

The class will be led by Johnson County K-State Research and Extension master food volunteers at the Johnson County Sunset Drive Office Building (11811 S. Sunset Drive Suite 1060) from 1-2:30 p.m.

Hand pies offer tasty possibilities with endless filling options! Whether you are a seasoned baker or a beginner, they are a fun and tasty way to get the flavors of a pie without too much extra work. Plus, they are a perfect portion for one or two people. Participants will each take home three hand pies.

The class is full. To be placed on a waitlist, visit connect.jocogov.org and click on Aging Activities/AAA Events or call 913-715-8860.
