Healthy Yards Expo
Discover simple, easy Earth-friendly practices for achieving a nice yard while still protecting our water, air, and healthy soils.
Johnson County K-State Extension Office's Healthy Yards Expo features businesses, non-profits, seminars and tips to help residents become greener in their lawn and garden care. It’s a one-stop learning event on green ideas and services.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shawnee Civic Centre, 13817 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS. It will feature:
- Expert advice from Johnson County K-State Research and Extension Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, and local plant societies
- Informative speakers touching on topics such as native plants, pollinators, vegetable gardening and landscaping
- City representatives discussing what's going on in your neighborhood and cost share programs for rain gardens and rain barrels
- A wide selection of native plants that will thrive in your garden
- Free tree seedlings for first 100 visitors
- Free soil tests for Johnson County residents
- Breakfast and lunch available for purchase
