Public Engagement Meeting for Johnson County Broadband and Digital Access Plan

Public Engagement Meeting for Johnson County Broadband and Digital Access Plan

Johnson County is partnering with KC Digital Drive to facilitate a countywide conversation regarding broadband access, connectivity, access to digital tools and services and extension of infrastructure throughout Johnson County.

This conversation will help refine a plan that will be a framework to expand and strengthen broadband services and digital access for Johnson County, inclusive of residential and commercial needs, and with an engagement strategy for individual municipalities and county residents.

The purpose of this meeting is to gather input on developing the Johnson County Broadband and Digital Access Plan. Topics in the plan, which may be covered in the meeting, include:

  • Quality and cost of your home internet service
  • Identify areas of need for broadband access within the county
  • Quality and availability of public computer access spaces, such as County spaces, library spaces and other places you think could or should provide access to computers and the internet

This is one of two Public Engagement meetings you can attend to provide input and learn more about the plan. The other meeting will take place Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Gardner Library, 137 E. Shawnee St., Gardner, KS.

Please note that both meetings will have the same information and presentation, so you can pick the day and time most convenient for you.

If you require a special accommodation (language interpreter, hearing assistance, etc.), please notify the Johnson County Planning Department by calling 913-715-2200.
