The Community Development division will present proposed updates to its Citizen Participation Plan for a 30-day public review and comment period this fall.

The public input period will occur Sept. 18-Oct. 17, 2024, with a public hearing to take place on the proposed updates on Oct. 24 during the regular Board of County Commissioners meeting, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Third Floor Hearing Room at the County Administration Building, 111 S. Cherry St. Olathe, KS.

Purpose of the Input Period

This period provides the opportunity for the public to provide input on proposed changes to the Citizen Participation Plan.

Made the following proposed changes:

1. Added reorganizing resolution.
2. Removed BOCC Liaison representation.
3. Rating Committee, added for HOME development applications.
4. Removed public hearing requirement for Citizen Participation Plan amendments.
5. Updated department name, address, phone numbers and hybrid meeting options.

Added the following new duties to the Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee:

1. Develop and adopt bylaws.
2. Review and evaluate five-year PHA Plan.
