Join us for our free nutrition seminar, Shopping, Preparing & Cooking Food for Better Blood Pressure Management, on April 9. This seminar will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Central Resource Library, Room 20.

When you cook meals at home you are in control of what ingredients you use, reducing the intake of overly processed foods often encountered while dining out. Did you know that a whopping 70 percent of the sodium Americans consume comes from processed foods and restaurant meals? High sodium diets are closely tied to elevated blood pressure and poor cardiovascular health.

Cooking at home empowers you to not only manage salt levels but also keep tabs on refined carbs, sugar, and saturated fat – all factors contributing to a heightened risk of heart disease. Get ready for an engaging session filled with food demonstrations and recipe tastings. Every participant gets a free bag of produce items featured in the food demonstration.

We're here to make your journey towards managing blood pressure enjoyable and informative. We can't wait to see you there! For more information or to register, contact Estella at 913-477-8348 or estella.fondzeka@jocogov.org.
