2024 Live Well Age Well event set for Aug. 29 at Arts & Heritage Center

Johnson County will offer resources and information to help the older population “live well” and “age well.” The 2024 Live Well, Age Well expo takes place Thursday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Live Well Age Well will feature a vendor fair with a variety of private businesses, health organizations, community partners and other service providers. The focus is keeping aging adults healthy, independent and well connected in Johnson County.

The event will feature informational booths from Johnson County Government, including the Park and Recreation District, 50 Plus Department, Election Office, Health and Environment, County Manager’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, Aging and Human Services, K-State Research and Extension Office, and the Library.

Activities will also include educational sessions, program demonstrations, workshops and bingo. There will be three feature presentations: "Aging is an Asset," "Mastering the Art of Emotional Resilience" and "Diabetes Prevention."

Attendees will receive an event bag that includes a free pass to the Johnson County Museum valid for entry on Aug. 29. The museum is located in the Arts & Heritage Center.
