Advance voting in person begins this weekend in Johnson County

The November general election is less than three weeks away and 10 advance voting sites will open this Saturday, October 19, with eight additional sites opening beginning on Saturday, Oct. 26.

“Advance voting allows voters to mark their ballot at their convenience while avoiding potentially long lines on Election Day,” Election Commissioner Fred Sherman said.

All registered voters in Johnson County can vote early in-person with no application or reason required. It is also recommended for voters to view their sample ballot before voting at voter.jocoelection.org.

Advance voting locations are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant and each ballot marking device is Help America Vote Act (HAVA) compliant.

Voters with disabilities can have assistance from a friend, family member, companion or election worker. Curbside voting is another option for voters with disabilities. Once parked at the designated curbside voting spot, the voter can activate the motion sensor on the parking sign and an election worker will take them through the process.
