Johnson County Government is now taking applications for the fall 2023 session of JoCo Academy.

JoCo Academy, open to Johnson County residents and employees, is an opportunity to learn about your local government with other civic-minded individuals.

The Fall 2023 JoCo Academy will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-9 p.m., with dinner included, starting Aug. 22. The session will last 10 weeks, with a graduation on Nov. 7.

Participants will meet with county staff and elected officials, explore the county budget, learn about civic engagement, volunteer opportunities and tour various county facilities. JoCo Academy supports 40 participants in each class.

Upon completion of at least eight of the 10 sessions, participants will receive a certificate. The deadline to register is July 21, 2023. Learn more and apply for the fall session.
