BOCC Action for Aug. 11, 2022

2022 deferment extension requests extended

Authorized the Wastewater General Manager to review and extend the current 2022 deferment extension requests one additional five-year deferment period, if eligible, per the requirements of Charter Resolution No. 29-92. Vote: Passed 7-0.

Contract authorized for cooling tower replacement

Authorized a contract with Martin Mechanical, Inc. for the Northeast Office Building Cooling Tower Replacement Project at the Northeast Office, 6000 Lamar Ave., Mission, for a total amount not to exceed $149,679. Vote: Passed 7-0.

Returned Blue Valley Reserves proposal to zoning board

Remanded Resolution No. 054-22. Application Nos. SE 22-211-REZ and SE 22-212-PDP (AU) and returned to the Southeast Consolidated Zoning Board for further consideration a request from Payne and Brockway, P.A., applicant, and Husam Kayyali and Yaser M. Mounla landowners, for rezoning 68.6 acres from Rural District (RUR) to Planned Residential Neighborhood 2 District (PRN-2) and a Preliminary Development Plan to serve as the preliminary plat for 30 residential lots to be known as Blue Valley Reserves, located one-half mile south of 199th Street, on the west side of Mission Road. Vote: Passed 6-0-1.

Rezoning approved for Loch Lloyd Estates-Blue Valley

Approved Resolution No. 055-22. Plat Exception No. 8-11-22. Application Nos. SE 22-223-REZ and SE 22-224-PDP (AU) regarding a request from Dale Brouk, applicant, and LLJ3- Pandi, LLC, landowner, for rezoning 62.2 acres from Rural District (RUR) to Planned Residential Neighborhood 2 District (PRN-2) and a Preliminary Development Plan, serving as the preliminary plat for 23 residential lots to be known as Loch Lloyd Estates-Blue Valley, located at the northeast corner of 175th Street and Kenneth Road. Vote: Passed 7-0.

Funding granted for emergency bypass pumping services

Granted an Exception to Competition with Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. for emergency bypass pumping services at the Douglas L. Smith Middle Basin Wastewater Treatment Facility in an amount not to exceed $170,000. Vote: Passed 6-1.

‘All About Me’ program highlighted to Board

The latest county’s manager’s spotlight of a Johnson County Department/Agency program focused on the new “All About Me” program. Tim Wholf, director of Aging and Human Services and Carol Colnar, operations manager for the Area Agency on Aging, gave a presentation on the program to the Board and answered questions.

Contract for roof replacement at transit center

Contract for repairs to heating/cooling units

Invitation for Bid (IFB) #2022-048. Consider authorizing a contract with Metro Air Conditioning Company, Inc. to replace and/or modify the heating and air conditioning units on the roof of the Administration Building at the Murray L. Nolte Transit Center located at 1701 W. 56 Highway, Olathe, Kansas 66061, in the amount not to exceed $192,000.
