First Budget Open Houses had nearly 50 attendees

We held two budget open houses on Monday, June 3, at Central Resource Library. Nearly 50 people attended on the first day. The conversations at the Monday open houses provided opportunities for staff to answer questions and provide clarification on areas such as property taxes and explain where property tax dollars go. Several discussions occurred that gave the opportunity to provide more details on the various functions of county government and the differences between county and city/state government. Two more budget open houses take place at Monticello Library (22435 West 66th St., Shawnee) on Monday, June 10, one from 10 a.m. to noon and one from 5 to 7 p.m. Budget information also will be available at the county’s Juneteenth event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at the Lenexa Civic Campus Commons (17101 W. 87th St.)
