Garmin KC Air Show returning to New Century AirCenter Aug. 19-20

Experience the best in aviation at the upcoming Garmin KC Air Show, returning this August. The two-day event takes place Aug. 19-20 at New Century AirCenter.

This year’s Air Show features nearly 30 performers, headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Additional performers include Fat Albert, an F-22 Raptor, the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team, the U.S. Marines F-35 B Lightning II, Vampire Airshows, Franklin’s Flying Circus and more.

Several static aircraft and military vehicles from the World War II and Vietnam eras will also be on display, as well as interactive exhibits such as the Precision Exotics exotic supercar show.

Gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with aerial performances scheduled to start at approximately 10:30 a.m. each day. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the venue.

Tickets are available for single-day admission, including access to the Air Show and all scheduled performances. You can purchase tickets online through the KC Air Show website.

General parking is included in the price of a ticket and must be reserved at the time of ticket purchase. Lots open at 8 a.m., and shuttle rides begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

New Century AirCenter is one of two airports operated by Johnson County. The airport was formerly known as Olathe Naval Air Station, where astronaut and former U.S. Senator John Glenn and TV host Bob Barker trained.
