Johnson County publications awarded as top magazines in Kansas
Two issues of Johnson County Government print magazines, JoCo Magazine and The Best Times, were recently named the Kansas Press Association’s top magazines of 2021. They competed statewide against publications and magazines from a variety of circulations.
The magazines, produced by the Public Information Office, help keep residents informed on important county news and programs. They come out regularly in both print and digital format.
The Winter 2021 issue of JoCo Magazine, a quarterly publication mailed to all Johnson County residents, came in first place. This 24-page magazine features articles on county services, finances, news and other issues that may affect your quality of life.
The March/April 2021 issue of The Best Times, a bi-monthly publication mailed to residents ages 60 and older, came in second place. This 28-page magazine includes information on key services and upcoming events, as well as a section on Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus programs.
The most recent issue of JoCo Magazine, the Spring 2022 edition, provides a COVID-19 update and information on substance use programs, the upcoming Juneteenth celebration, the new Johnson County Square and more.
The May-June issue of The Best Times is now available and includes a look at the 2022 Theatre in the Park season, the need for poll workers for 2022 elections and more. You can read the articles online or when the issue arrives in your mailbox.
