A public input opportunity is coming up this fall, during which you can share your thoughts on 2025 federal funding for community development and housing.

The Community Development Office will present its proposed 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, 2025 Annual Action Plan and updates to its Citizen Participation Plan for a 30-day public review and comment period, taking place Sept. 18-Oct. 17, 2024.

During this period, you will be able to provide input on the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and proposed uses of 2025 CDBG and HOME program funding. These programs provide federal funding for implementation of affordable housing and community development opportunities, in support of low-to-moderate income residents.

You will also be able to provide input on proposed updates to the Citizen Participation Plan. Learn more about these proposed updates.

Separate public hearings will take place on the proposed plans and proposed Citizen Participation Plan updates on Oct. 24 during the regular BOCC meeting, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Third Floor Hearing Room at the County Administration Building, 111 S. Cherry St. Olathe, KS.

You can also submit comments in writing to the Community Development Coordinator in Suite 2000 of the County Administration Building, by phone at 913-715-2245, fax at 913-715-2222 or email at cdbg@jocogov.org. Keep in mind you must submit your comments by Oct. 17, 2024.
