Update regarding COVID-19 vaccinations
In an effort to bring vaccines to the community, vaccination clinics are being offered this week at several locations in Johnson County:
- Tuesday, June 15 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Lenexa Farmers Market, 17201 W. 87th St. Parkway, Lenexa
- Thursday, June 17 from 4 - 6 p.m., Mission Southside, 514 S. Kansas Ave., Olathe
- Friday, June 18 from 4:30 - 7 p.m., Frontier Days, Edgerton
- Saturday, June 19 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Thompson Park Carriage House, 8045 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park
- Saturday, June 19 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Franklin Park, Roe Ave. and Somerset Drive, Prairie Village
Businesses and organizations can request onsite vaccinations from Johnson County
Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) by completing a Community Vaccination
Event Request form.
“Take advantage of all these convenient opportunities to get a vaccine” said Dr. Sanmi Areola, JCDHE director. “Immunity for our community is our goal.”
Walk-in hours are also available to make it more convenient for our residents. During June and July, walk-in hours are:
June:
- 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays
- 3 - 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays
- 9 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19 and Saturday, June 26.
July:
- 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays
- 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays
JCDHE reports that overall, 53.2% of eligible persons in Johnson County are at least partially vaccinated, and 46.4% of eligible people are fully vaccinated. Current JCDHE vaccination efforts are shown on the COVID-19 dashboard.
JCDHE continues to urge all who are age 12 and older to receive a vaccine. Make an
appointment and/or get more information about COVID-19 vaccinations at jocogov.org/covid19-vaccine.
