Walk Kansas promotes healthy living through exercise, diet challenges
An opportunity is coming up to get active this spring. Walk Kansas is an annual healthy living program offered through the Johnson County K-State Research and Extension Office and open to Kansas residents.
This eight-week team-based program encourages residents to be more active, eat more fruits and vegetables and reduce stress through competitive challenges. Registration is open now. Here’s how it works:
- Gather a team of up to six participants (or participate solo!).
- Choose a captain and fun team name.
- Select a challenge to complete.
The actual program runs March 31-May 25. Once registered, you can access the portal at walkkansasonline.org, where you will be able to log your daily activity and compete with teams from across the state.
The program costs $10 per person. On top of participating, you will also receive a weekly newsletter with information on exercise, chronic disease prevention, healthy eating and more.
