COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective against the coronavirus and they’re available throughout Johnson County. The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment strongly recommends all residents ages 6 months and older get the vaccine. Vaccines are available for those who qualify for the Bridge Access Program, the Vaccines for Children program and those with health insurance.

Rabies Exposures and Animal Bites

The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) works in conjunction with local animal control officers (ACOs) and community service officers (CSOs) in Johnson County to limit the potential for human rabies exposures. Information for veterinarians about how to report animal bites is included.

Travel Immunizations

If you are planning to visit another country, we can provide the necessary vaccinations. If you are unsure of what immunizations are required for your intended destination, visit the CDC travel website to find out.

Fees for Immunizations

Clients may pay the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment for vaccines out-of-pocket or bill to insurance.

Adult Immunizations

The need for immunization doesn't end with childhood. Adults also need vaccines to protect against disease.

Adolescent Immunizations

Getting vaccinated on time helps provide immunity before children and adolescents are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases. Vaccines are safe and effective.
