Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP)

Johnson County's Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program is responsible for ongoing planning and preparation for a bioterrorism or public health threat in Johnson County, Kansas. PHEP collaborates with community partners and other County departments to assess and support responses to natural and man-made disasters.

Waste Diversion Assistance

Johnson County Department of Health and Environment provides up to $500 in assistance to qualifying businesses and organizations through the Green Business Program. Assistance money can go towards supplies or equipment that leads to waste diversion including bins and signage. Assistance money can not be used to pay hauling, transportation, or processing costs.

Solid Waste Management Committee

The Solid Waste Management Committee is responsible for the preparation and oversight of a Solid Waste Management Plan and is made up of city representatives and representatives from industry and community groups.

Disposal Facilities

A resale inspection is a procedure performed by a JCDHE Environmental Health Specialist to determine the functional status of a private sewage treatment system.

Pumper Installer Lists

JCDHE licenses installers and designers of private sewage treatment systems regulated under the Johnson County Environmental Sanitary Code, as well as the sanitary disposal contractors, also known as pumpers, who clean the treatment systems and transport the sewage to the disposal site.
