Train-related programs on track at museum

With topics ranging from Mexican and Mexican-American track workers to Harvey Houses and Harvey Girls, the Johnson County Museum is planning four programs this fall relating to its ongoing special exhibit about the local impact of railroads.

In my role as director, I get to meet many amazing people. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with one such person: Luci Capo Rome, a retired advanced practice professional nurse, whose pen name is Bella Lucia. Luci was born with a congenital, severe and complete bilateral cleft lip and palate. Cleft lip and palate affect one of every 700 live births.

RSV vaccine available in the fall

A new vaccine that protects adults ages 60 and older who are at the highest risk for severe illness from the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) will be available this fall.
