Johnson County Homeless Hubs
If you are living in Johnson County and need emergency shelter or other homeless services, you have options to connect to a variety of supports. Johnson County’s Continuum of Care on Homelessness’ members work together to meet the needs of those who are homeless in the community.
If you are not already connected to an organization that can assist you find emergency shelter or connect you to housing options, there are organizations ready to assist!
Three hubs offer triage screening and assistance Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

When calling or arriving, please identify yourself as experiencing homelessness and ask for a triage screening, referral and assistance. Any household can be seen at any hub regardless of where they are located in Johnson County, Kansas.
If you are seeking assistance outside of 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday hours, please call United Way’s 2-1-1 call center (dial 2-1-1 or 816-474-5112)

Project 1020 is a cold weather shelter in Lenexa, Kansas, open December 1st through March 31st from 7 pm - 7 am. For more information please call Barb at 913-219-3347.

INDEPENDENCE, MO
Salvation Army Crossroads is a shelter located in Independence, Missouri, for families with children only. This is not an emergency shelter. There is an intake process and waiting list. For more information, please call 816-461-1093
KANSAS CITY, KS
Jack Reardon Convention Center is used as a cold weather emergency warming shelter in Kansas City, Kansas, when the temperature dips below 25 degrees. This is an emergency drop-in shelter. Doors open at 6 pm on those days. The shelter is open through April 30, 2022. Crosslines Community Outreach coordinates the shelter.
Salvation Army Harbor & Lights is a shelter located in Kansas City, Kansas, for single men who are veterans only. This is not an emergency drop in shelter. To gain access to this shelter you must go through the Veterans Administration. 913-342-2173.
KANSAS CITY, MO
City Union Mission is a shelter located in Kansas City, Missouri. This is not an emergency drop in shelter. Individuals must call the homeless hotline for openings and to reserve a bed. 816-474-4599
Kansas City Rescue Mission is a shelter in Kansas City, Missouri, for single men only. This is an emergency drop in shelter but it is based on first come/first serve. Check in begins at 3 pm. 816-421-7643

Lawrence Community Shelter is an emergency drop-in shelter located in Lawrence, Kansas. The shelter prioritizes to Lawrence residents and does not accept registered sex offenders. For more information and to check if there are openings, please call 785-832-8864.
