Ban In Effect: Open burning not allowed at any time.
Comments: Open burning of yard waste is prohibited by local ordinance in all of the cities serviced by CFD#2. Therefore no open burning permits are issued for this type of burning.
Fire District: Johnson County Fire District #1 (Gardner, Edgerton, New Century Air Center, and Spring Hill)

- Burning will only be allowed at a residential location.
- Burn pile can only be 5' by 5'.
- No burning of grasslands, pastures, fields or any type of acreage.
- No commercial/land clearing operations of any kind.
Fire District: City of Olathe
Ban In Effect: April Restrictions
Comments: No burning permits issued for month of April.
- Recreational fires will be allowed in accordance with Olathe Municipal Code 16.05.150.
- Recreational fires are limited to natural materials with a fuel area of 3 feet or less in diameter and 2 feet or less in height for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking, warmth or similar purposes.

Comments: To obtain a burn permit from Overland Park Fire Department, go to the city website and apply on EnerGov. This applies to Overland Park and Merriam residents. If you encounter issues call 913-888-6066.
