Johnson County’s new career portal streamlines job application process
Johnson County has fully transitioned to its new career portal, iCIMS. Through the new career portal, the process to apply for a job with the county is as smooth as ever.
You can find a list of jobs and apply now through the career portal. The new portal simplifies the application process, with these benefits for an overall improved experience:
- Reduced Time to Apply: You now may either upload a resume or complete the Education and Work Experience fields. This improvement strives to reduce the time it takes to apply, as the previous job portal required you to fill out these fields manually.
- Better Sorting and Search: You can now view minimum and maximum pay, full-time or part-time status, and other parameters straight from the list of jobs. You can sort the list of jobs by these parameters and even sign up for email alerts for specific openings.
- User-Friendly Design: The new career portal is built into the county’s website, so you can quickly access other pages of the site as well as the drop-down menu. It’s also mobile- and touchscreen-friendly for those interested in applying via phone or tablet.
To apply for a job, head to the career portal, then follow these steps:
- Visit the Jobs Open to the Public page and click “apply” on the job you’re interested in.
- Upload a resume or complete the Education and Work Experience Fields, and add job-related attachments such as a cover letter.
- Answer candidate questions.
- Optional: Answer diversity information questions (solely for statistical purposes to comply with federal regulations)
- Answer job-specific questions included with the job posting.
- Read and acknowledge the Certification and Authorization Form.
To check the status of your application, log in to your account, select your dashboard link and view the Past Job Submittals section.
