Commission on Aging
The COA provides information, guidance, advice and support to the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging and serves as a liaison to the BOCC concerning the needs of older county residents and services to meet those needs.
CHAMPSS: Seniors Meal Plan
The Johnson County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Nutrition Program is pleased to offer a dining opportunity called CHAMPSS, a program for adults 60 years or older and their spouses at certain Hy-Vee grocery stores.
Caregiver Support
The Area Agency on Aging sponsors services to educate, counsel and advise caregivers and help them deal with the physical and emotional stresses of caregiving. Other services provide direct care for the older adults to assist the caregiver or give the caregiver a much needed break.
CARE Nursing Home Pre-Admission Screening
CARE stands for Client Assessment, Referral and Evaluation. Everyone seeking a permanent move to a Kansas Medicaid certified nursing facility must be assessed by the CARE program.
Medicaid/KanCare ADRC - Aging and Disability Resource Center
Aging & Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) are visible and trusted places where people can turn for information, assistance on public long-term support programs and benefits, especially Medicaid or KanCare in Kansas.
Donations
Individuals wishing to make a donation to Catch-a-Ride, CHAMPSS, Neighborhood Nutrition Centers, or Home Delivered Meals can donate online. Mail-in donations are also an option.
Johnson County Area Agency on Aging
The Area Agency on Aging is a division within Johnson County Aging and Human Services that advocates and assists older adults through community based services.
