Home Delivered Meal program seeks community volunteers, safety in mind
June 3, 2020
The Area Agency on Aging Home Delivered Meal program is in need of community volunteers to deliver meals Monday through Friday, over the lunch hour, to home-bound older adults in Johnson County.
Volunteers can select six different pick-up locations - De Soto, Gardner, Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park and Spring Hill. Volunteers are needed short term (summer) or long term (ongoing), and must be at least 18 years old and drive their personal vehicle.
Safety is a top priority for the Area Agency on Aging. Volunteers will be provided cloth masks, disposable gloves, alcohol wipes and a trash bag to dispose of their personal protective equipment after their route.
To get started, we ask all new volunteers to attend a volunteer orientation session. Volunteer orientations are being held in person at our Olathe office. Due to physical distancing practices, each orientation has a limited number of participants.
Register online. For more information, call 913-715-8895.
