Infection Control Plan: Reminder to Families
Thursday - Nov. 05, 2020
We hope you and your family are doing well. As we all continue to navigate through the pandemic and provide services in the safest manner possible, we're am sending this reminder about the JCDS Infection Control Plan. Please help support your family member to stay home from services if they are experiencing any symptoms that could be associated with COVID-19. As you may be aware, there are many different symptoms that are very similar to what is experienced with the flu and common cold. It’s extremely important that everyone stay home if they are ill and report symptoms to their primary contact from the JCDS day services program. While we cannot require testing, it is strongly encouraged if your family member is experiencing a symptom(s) that could be related to COVID-19. If your family member experiencing a symptom (s) upon arrival to the program or during day, they will need to leave as soon as possible. These symptoms include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Unless there is an alternative diagnosis provided by a medical professional, we will ask that your family member remain at home for a period of 10 days from the onset of their symptoms and 3 days symptom-free. If there is an alternative diagnosis, then they may return after 3 days symptom-free. This is the same guidance that we provide to our employees and our plan was developed in accordance with recommendations from the Department of Health and Environment. If you have any questions, please contact Beth Johnson.
