Assistant County Manager: Adam Norris
Adam Norris became assistant county manager on Jan. 22, 2024. He has more than 20 years of executive leadership and management experience in local government.
Before he worked for Johnson County Government, Norris worked for more than five years in the roles of deputy city manager and assistant city manager for the City of Independence, Missouri.
Norris’ achievements at Independence included developing and implementing a five-year financial forecast, overseeing economic development projects and the city’s three utilities, leading several organizational restructures/department mergers and creating the city’s health department and local public health authority.
Norris has also worked in city manager/administrator offices in Blue Springs, Overland Park, Mission Hills, and Dallas, Texas. In most of those jurisdictions, he earned a promotion to an executive position in those offices.
Norris received a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisplinary Studies from the University of Missouri – Columbia and his Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. He is also an ICMA Credentialed Manager.
