Deputy County Manager Julie Karins

Julie Karins has served as Johnson County’s deputy county manager since February 2023. Before joining Johnson County, Karins had 23 years of local government experience both at the county and city levels for agencies in Arizona to include serving as the City Manager for the City of Goodyear, and County Administrator for Yavapai County. She began her public service career after working in the private sector as a human resources professional.

Karins received her bachelor’s degree in business management from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Grand Canyon University. She holds the credentialed city/county manager designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA-CM), is a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute (SPHR), and a proud graduate of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
