Overnight fishing sets 10 dates
Pursue the elusive channel catfish or just enjoy a summer outdoor activity without the heat of the day during a series of Overnight Fishing Saturdays being presented by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
Ten Overnight Fishing Saturdays at four JCPRD parks are planned, The first opportunity will take place on May 7 at Shawnee Mission Park Lake with additional dates on June 18, July 23 and Aug. 13.
Other opportunities are scheduled at:
- Heritage Park, June 4 and July 16
- Kill Creek Park, June 11 and Aug. 6
- Lexington Lake Park, July 9 and Sept. 10
On the dates, the parks will be open for fishing only. Park police officers will be on duty throughout the night.
Before fishing, anglers ages 16-74 will need to have a valid Kansas fishing license, JCPRD fishing permits and all appropriate boat tags, if applicable.
