Best Times Programs wins awards in contests
The Best Times has won the top Best of Show honor along with a dozen writing and general excellence awards in the 2022 contest sponsored by the North American Mature Publishers Association, a nationwide network of publishers focusing on Baby Boomer and senior readers.
The magazine received nine first-place, two second-place and one third-place awards in writing, general excellence, photography, layout/design and advertising.
Entries were independently judged by the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri. The Best Times competed in the division for publication circulations between 50,001 and 100,000.
NAMPA is a non-profit international association for publishers of local/regional aging adult and boomer publications. The organization involves a membership publishing more than 95 publications in 26 states, the District of Columbia and Ontario - Canada with a combined circulation of more than 4 million in the United States and Canada.
Gerald Hay, editor of The Best Times, received Best of Show recognition in the 2022 Awards of Excellence contest sponsored by the National Association of County Information Officers. He won all three awards in the news writing category for articles in The Best Times.
The magazine is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2022.
