Classes offer options to stay active
Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Program offers both in-person and virtual options to stay active all winter long.
The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program features trained instructors to cover a variety of range-of-motion and endurance building activities, relaxation techniques and health education topics.
Choose from in-person or virtual classes. Each 45 minutes workout is $3 per person and can be paid each day class is attended.
Classes are on-going and you can drop-in at your convenience at the following location and times:
Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty Overland Park
- Wednesdays, 1-1:45 p.m.
- Fridays, 10:45-11:30 a.m.
Merriam Community Center – 6040 Slater, Merriam
- Mondays & Wednesdays, 10-10:45 a.m.
New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway New Century
- Wednesdays & Fridays, 10:15-11 a.m.
Spring Hill Civic Center, 401 N. Madison Spring Hill
- Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1-1:45 p.m.
A virtual class is available online every Wednesday from 11-1:45 a.m. Virtual courses are currently held at no charge and offered via Zoom.
