New program features coffee with critters
Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Department is beginning a new series focused on wildlife and conversation.
In partnership with Ernie Miller Nature Center, the programs will feature a presentation along with live animals at the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village.
The first opportunity is “The Backyard Bird Count” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, where participants will learn about the nationwide Great Backyard Bird Count and how to attract and identify common backyard birds.
The next program is “Be My Owlentine” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, where participants will fall in love with the wonderful world of owls.
Preregistration is required for each program, which includes coffee and light refreshments. Admission is $15 for Johnson County residents and $16 for nonresidents.
