Two free, public events will offer fun options and fall activities on Saturday, Oct. 26. The locations are only three miles apart.

The Mildale Farm Fall Fest will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 35250 W. 199th St., Edgerton.

Visitors can explore and picnic on the 22-acre rental property that is usually only accessible by reservation. Parking is available near Mildale Farm’s main barn.

Activities include tractor-driven hayrides, cider and coffee, roasting marshmallows and a large pumpkin patch with free pumpkins for ages 12 and younger while supplies last.

While district fishing permits have been waived for catch-and-release fishing, Kansas residents ages 16 to 74 and nonresidents 16 and older need to have a Kansas state fishing license

No alcohol is allowed. Pets must be on-leash. Vehicles must remain on roadways.

Event details are available by visiting JCPRD.com/182/Mildale-Fall-Farm-Fest. The annual Lanesfield School Fall Open House begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. and is only about a 5 minute drive from Mildale Farm. The Lanesfield Historic Site is located at 18745 S. Dillie Rd., Edgerton.

Attendees are invited to celebrate autumn 1904-style while they experience life as a student in a one-room schoolhouse built in 1869. The school is the last remaining building of the bygone community of Lanesfield founded in 1858.

The open house offers old-fashioned fun with hands-on activities, the Missouri Town Band, outdoor games and lessons in the schoolhouse with costumed teachers.
